AJ Ashe isn't your typical seventeen-year-old vampire—as if there is such a thing! She's stuck in the middle of a huge fight between her two BFFs. Her ex-boyfriend—whom she's still totally in love with, by the way—is now her stepbrother. A former classmate—who, um, she may or may not have turned into a vampire—is stalking her. And now, apparently, the fate of humankind lies in her little undead hands. What ever happened to the good old days, when all a vampire girl had to worry about was the occasional zit and hiding her taste for blood?

The only way to really describe this book is a that it is a very cute vampire read. Most vampire books seem to be serious, which is fine but I believe that everyone needs a book that makes you laugh out loud and smile through the whole book. This book did have me laughing and smiling throughout the book and I was never bored. Aj is a cute typical high school character with normal high school problems, with the exception of her being a vampire and all. The characters were very high school and not like those characters who are in high school but act as if they are thirty, which I really like. I mean come on, there are definitely people in high school that are still growing in maturity, I can already think of a some names as I'm writing this. So I liked that the characters fit their setting. The plot the was cute but somewhat predictable, not all the time, but sometimes it was obvious what was going to happen or who was behind that. I liked the ending a lot and cannot wait to see where the series will go. Oh, I almost forgot, the vampires are not you typical vampires. It's not really a spoiler since, obviously, if Aj and her two little sisters are in school, they are going to have to show their faces to the sun. I liked how Francis just had them evolve in a way that seems very practical, no spacial this or that, just plain old evolution. It was a very cute and light read that I recommend to people that love books about vampires or just need a light, fun, fast read.

4 Kisses!
